Galleria Arte Moderna in Milan, known for its extensive collection of modern and contemporary art, housed in a historic palace.

Gallery of Contemporary Art – Galleria d’Arte Moderna

GAM – The Gallery of Contemporary Art is located in the Villa Reale in Milan, a magnificent neoclassical building surrounded by the greenery of the Porta Venezia Gardens.

The harmony between the era from which the building originated and the works of art that it hosts greatly expands the charm of the tour. The museum houses paintings and sculptures from the late 18th to 20th centuries, with a rich section of 19th-century paintings: this is where the “Quarto Stato” painting of the liberation of the Proletariat is located, among others.

Numerous private donations made it possible to complete the Vismara Collection, Marino Marini Collection, Grassi Collection, and Jucker Collection. These precious funds have produced masterpieces by foreign painters such as Renoir, Manet, Cézanne, and Picasso.

Anna

I lived in Milan for 18 years, and it was there that I came to know the city’s daily life best - not just its landmarks, but also its rhythm, its habits, and its less obvious sides. Today I live in Wrocław, but I still return to Milan regularly.
