Leonardo da Vinci, a versatile man and genius, embodied the spirit of universalism of his era. A painter, sculptor, engineer, anatomist, musician, inventor, active in various fields of art and science, he is the most famous artist not only of the Renaissance but of all time and across the globe.
Exhibition
An exhibition dedicated to this versatile artist is open in Milan from April 16 to July 19, 2015. It is the most important monographic exhibition ever organized in Italy. It is sponsored by the city of Milan and the idea and organization is due to Palazzo Reale and Skira Publishing House. It is a unique opportunity to admire and understand the extraordinary complexity of Leonardo da Vinci’s genius.
The exhibition is divided into twelve sections, where visitors will be able to discover Genius’ multifaceted work through original notes, a collection of more than 100 drawings (about 30 of which are from the „Atlantic Code” collection), and many artworks drawings, manuscripts, sculptures, incunabula and 16th century works from the world’s most famous museums and libraries (such as the Louvre, the Royal Collection Trust, the British Museum, the Metropolitan in New York, the National Gallery in Washington, the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and the Vatican Museums.)
Twelve episodes accompany visitors to discover the multifaceted activities of the Engineers through their original codes, more than a hundred signed drawings (about thirty of them from the famous „Atlantic Code”), and many works of art: drawings, manuscripts, sculptures, incunabula and XVI from the world’s most famous museums and libraries, including The Louvre, the Royal Collection Trust, the British Museum, the Metropolitan in New York, the National Gallery in Washington, the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and the Vatican Museums.
EXPO 2015 (World Expo) is the perfect opportunity to host this magnificent Genius, an undisputed symbol of creativity and Italian art recognized worldwide.
The Leonardo da Vinci 1452 – 1519 exhibition is open from April 16 to July 19 during the hours:

- Monday: 2:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Tuesday and Wednesday: 9.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
- Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: from 9:30 a.m. to midnight
The ticket office closes an hour and a half before the exhibition closes.
