The Alfa Romeo Museum, also known as Museo Storico Alfa Romeo, is the official museum of the Alfa Romeo brand, located in Arese, near Milan. This museum displays an extensive collection of Alfa Romeo cars and engines, as well as numerous trophies won by the brand in racing.

After extensive renovations, the museum closed in 2011 but reopened its doors to the public in June 2015. The museum also houses the renovated and reorganized Alfa Romeo Documentation Center, which contains documents, photos, publications, technical drawings, and materials tracing the company’s history from 1910 to the present.

The museum also offers various attractions, such as 4D effects film screenings that allow visitors to experience the “Alfa Romeo experience” live. There are also opportunities for conferences, both live and virtual, as well as dinners, cocktail receptions and individual tours.

The museum’s car exhibit is divided into three sections: Timeline, which tells the history of the brand’s cars, Bellezza (Beauty), which shows the beauty and describes the design of the cars, and Velocità (Speed), which tells the racing history of Alfa Romeo.

The Timeline section showcases cars that tell the brand’s story. Among them are the A.L.F.A. 24 HP, one of the first cars produced by Alfa Romeo, and the Alfa Romeo RL Super Sport, the first Alfa Romeo sports car produced after World War I.

Bellezza – Beauty

The Bellezza section shows the beauty and describes the design of cars. This section features cars such as the Alfa Romeo Carabo and Alfa Romeo Iguana, concept cars designed by famous people in the history of design.

Velocità – Speed

The Velocità section talks about Alfa Romeo’s racing history. This section showcases cars made in the 1930s and 1940s with lightweight bodies.

The museum also displays many other artifacts, such as documents, photos, conceptual designs, and many other items related to the history of the Alfa Romeo brand. The museum houses more than 150 cars, as well as car and aircraft engines, trophies, and art objects.

The museum also features cars related to Alfa Romeo’s history in the uniformed services, such as the 1900 M Matta, Giulia (called Gazelle), 75, Alfetta, 90, and Giulia Giardinetta.

In 2023, the museum organized a series of Alfa Romeo history meetings, featuring various models such as the 8C Competizione, Alfa 33, Alfa 155, and the Giulia Sprint GT model.

There are several ways to get to the museum

  • By car: The museum is located near the Lainate/Arese exit of the A8 highway. Alternatively, it can be reached via the SP 233 Varesina provincial road and the SS 33 del Sempione national road.
  • By public transportation: You can take the M1 train or subway line to Rho-Fiera station, and then take the 561 Airpullman bus line to Arese.
  • By cab: This is another option, especially for those arriving from the airport. The museum is 31 km from Milano Malpensa Airport, 36 km from Milano Linate, and 58 km from Orio al Serio-Bergamo.

  • Regular ticket: 12 euros
  • Reduced ticket: 10 euros (for children aged 6-18, people over 65, journalists, and Stellantis employees)
  • Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children): 30 euros
  • Group ticket (minimum 15 people): 10 euros per person
  • Children under 6: free admission

In addition, the museum offers private guided tours that last about 90 minutes and cost 8 euros, not including the cost of an individual admission ticket. These tours are available by reservation and are offered for small groups.
