Rho is the main complex where the biggest events happen: Salone del Mobile, EICMA (motorcycle show), MICAM (footwear), Host (hospitality), Tuttofood, and Artigiano in Fiera. The second location is Allianz MiCo in the CityLife district—this is a convention center within Milan itself for smaller conferences. If your ticket doesn’t explicitly say “fieramilano city,” head to Rho.

The complex covers 3.7 million square feet (345,000 m²) and has several gates: Porta Est (East Gate, by the subway and train station), Porta Sud (South Gate), and Porta Ovest (West Gate). Which one is best for you depends on which hall your event is in – check the floor plan on the organizer’s website before you arrive.

How to Get to Fiera Milano Rho from Central Milan?

From the center of Milan, the fastest way to reach Fiera Milano Rho is the M1 Subway (Red Line) – take it to the final stop, Rho-Fieramilano, with no transfers needed.

Subway M1 – Red Line, Rho-Fieramilano Terminus

Rho-Fieramilano is the last station on the M1 line heading west. You can ride directly from any station on the Red Line – which is incredibly convenient for tourists staying downtown, as the M1 passes through Duomo, Cairoli (Sforza Castle), and Cadorna.

A standard ATM ticket costs €2.20 (as of April 2026) and covers the trip to Rho-Fieramilano. The station is located within the Mi1-Mi3 zone, meaning a standard city ticket is sufficient; you don’t need a more expensive “out-of-town” ticket. The ticket is valid for 90 minutes after validation and works on all ATM transport: subway, tram, and bus.

The walk from the subway exit to Porta Est is only a few yards—this is one of those rare cases where “next to the station” actually means right there.

Trenord Train and Frecce (High-Speed Rail)

The Rho Fiera Milano train station is right next to the complex at Porta Est. This is an excellent option for those coming from outside the city center or from the airport.

Trenord runs lines S5, S6, and S11 from Milano Centrale, Porta Garibaldi, and Cadorna. The trip from Milano Centrale takes about 15–20 minutes.
High-speed trains (Frecce Trenitalia) often stop here during major events. If you’re coming from Turin, Florence, Bologna, or Venice, you can often buy a ticket directly to the Rho Fiera Milano station without switching trains in central Milan.

Driving and Parking

Fiera Milano Rho has over 10,000 parking spaces across five surface lots (P1–P5) and two multi-story garages (PM1 and PM2). During major trade shows, pre-booking via APCOA is essential.

Highway access:

PM1 parking at Porta Ovest is closest to the hall entrances and fills up first. For smaller events, arriving early is enough. For big ones (Salone del Mobile, EICMA), parking without a reservation is a gamble. Book online via APCOA at fieremilano.apcoa.it; for some events, daily parking is around €20.

Taxis and Ride-sharing

Taxi stands are located at Porta Sud and Porta Est. You can also call a taxi at 02 8585, 02 6969, or 02 4040. At Porta Sud, you can find taxi collettivo (shared taxis), which are cheaper than a private ride.

During peak events, wait times for Uber or Bolt can be long, especially right after the show closes. If you plan on taking a car back, book in advance or wait 20–30 minutes for the initial rush to clear.

How to Get to Fiera Milano Rho from the Airport?

You can reach Fiera Milano Rho from any of the three airports serving Milan via public transportation, although the routes vary in length and convenience.

From Malpensa (MXP)

Malpensa is the most common arrival point for trade show attendees coming from abroad. You have four main options:

From Linate (LIN)

Since 2023, Linate has been connected to the subway network via the M4 (Blue Line). Take the M4 to the San Babila station, where you will transfer to the M1 (Red Line) and ride directly to Rho-Fieramilano. The total travel time is approximately 45 minutes.

During some trade shows, organizers provide direct shuttle buses from Linate – similar to the Malpensa service – so it’s worth checking the specific event’s website for details.

From Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY)

Getting there from Bergamo is the longest option: you’ll need to take a shuttle bus to Milano Centrale or Sesto San Giovanni, then switch to the subway. Expect the commute to take 75–90 minutes. If you are attending the trade show for several days and flying through Bergamo, consider staying near the Fiera Rho instead of central Milan—you’ll save yourself a significant amount of travel time back and forth.

Where to Stay During Trade Shows in Rho – Two Strategies

When choosing your accommodation for a trade show in Rho, the decision comes down to one question: do you prioritize logistical convenience or access to the city?

This isn’t a rhetorical question. The answer depends on what you plan to do after the show. If you expect to return to your hotel exhausted and go straight to sleep, staying near the Fiera makes sense. However, if you’re planning a late dinner in Brera or an aperitivo in Navigli, you’re better off staying downtown and commuting via subway.

• UNAHOTELS Expo Fiera Milano (4*) – Offers a shuttle to the Molino Dorino station (M1); a large facility with a convention center. A great option for groups and exhibitors.

Staying in Central Milan and Commuting by Subway

Who this is for: You want to combine the trade show with sightseeing, you prefer dining at a local restaurant rather than a hotel buffet, or you’re only attending for a single day and don’t want to pay the “Rho premium.”

Neighborhoods that work well with the M1 line: The areas around Duomo, Cadorna, and Buonarroti (the last M1 stop before the outskirts). From these locations, the trip to Rho-Fieramilano takes 22–30 minutes with no transfers.

On-site Logistics – What to Know Before You Enter

Fiera Milano Rho is a massive complex covering 3.7 million square feet (345,000 m²) – its sheer size directly impacts how you should plan your day.

Before you enter, check the organizer’s materials to see which gate is closest to your booth or halls. Porta Est (East Gate) is by the subway and train station – it is the most frequently used entrance. Porta Ovest (West Gate) is near the PM1 and P5 parking lots. Porta Sud (South Gate) handles additional traffic and taxis. If you enter through the wrong gate, you might face a 10–15 minute walk across the entire complex to reach the correct hall.

There are 84 food outlets on-site, as well as ATMs, a drugstore (parapharmacy), and coat checks. You can also rent a wheelchair or a mobility scooter for those with limited mobility (online reservation via the mobility center). Note that children under 14 ride the subway for free.

Buy your entry ticket online in advance. During popular trade shows, the on-site ticket counters have lines that, at peak times (like Saturday at noon during Artigiano in Fiera), can exceed 30–40 minutes.

Exit Strategy: Just after the fair closes, the crowd at the metro station can be huge, with several thousand people traveling at the same time. If you can, leave 20-30 minutes before the official closing time, or stay for a coffee at a bar on Porta Est and leave with the second wave. The Rho-Fiera Milano metro entrance is spacious, but the wait for the train is still crowded.
